Mission Statement

The Envelope Room is an organisation in Scotland supporting, promoting and connecting professional performance designers working in live performance.  We engage with Set, Costume, Video, Lighting, Sound, Illusion and Puppetry designers.

Our goal is to strengthen the existing design community in Scotland by creating an environment which enables designers to craft work of the highest quality whilst exploring the art form and allowing them opportunities to be part of the evolution of theatre design.

Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Access Statement

The Envelope Room is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our network, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The Envelope Room recognises that it must take an equitable stance, addressing systematic injustice and prejudice in society.

The aim is for our network to be truly representative of all sections of society and for each member to feel respected and able to give their best. The Envelope Room will ensure that individuals are treated equally and fairly.

The Envelope Room values and welcomes individual contributions of people irrespective of age, disability, sex, marital status, sexuality, race, colour, religion, ethnic or national origin, history of illness, needs of dependents and/or parenthood.

The Envelope Room use the Social Model of Disability and recognise that some people experience disabling barriers
